Hemang Badani appointed as head coach of Delhi Capitals: Ahead of the Indian Premier League 2025, a big report is coming out from the Delhi Capitals franchise. Veteran player Hemang Badani has been appointed as the head coach of Delhi Capitals in the upcoming season.


Hemang Badani Cricket Career: Let us tell you that Hemang Badani has played four Tests and 40 ODIs for Team India. In 4 Tests, this former player has scored 94 runs while he has 867 runs in 40 ODIs. Apart from Hemang Badani, Delhi Capitals appointed former Indian batsman Venugopal Rao as its Director of Cricket.


Hemang Badani will replace Ricky Ponting as the head coach who has held this important responsibility for 7 years while Venugopal Rao has been appointed Director of Cricket in place of former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly.

Let us tell you that for a long time, the performance of Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League has been very disappointing. In the Indian Premier League 2024, Delhi Capitals won 7 out of 14 matches while they lost 7. The team was at the sixth position with 14 points. In the 2023 season, Delhi Capitals won only five out of 14 matches.

IPL source told PTI that, 'DC management is looking to give important responsibility to Hemang Badani and Munaf Patel. Hemang Badani has worked as fielding coach and scout for Sunrisers Hyderabad team in two seasons but he has never played the role of head coach in this important tournament. However, this veteran player got important responsibility in the upcoming season. Even though Delhi Capitals have failed to show tremendous performance for the last few seasons, the team will definitely want to win the trophy of the 2025 season.
