Biography of Virat Kohli

Autobiography of Virat Kohli: I sit down to open the journey of life, and a wave of thankfulness and pride starts pouring in to me. The small lad playing with a cricket bat on the roads of Delhi has now been the captain of the Indian cricket team-a miracle, as one might say. Not more than a journey across the strings of dreams, determination, and dedication all threaded together through struggles and triumphs, after all. Childhood.

Born on 5th November 1988. My family is middle class and not very rich either. My father's name is Prem Kohli, a criminal lawyer. My mother is a homemaker. Cricket attracted me and my brothers and sisters-even from quite early days of life. Such brothers and sisters of mine include my elder brother Vikas and elder sister Bhavna. My family says that even when I was two years old, I started imitating the act of hitting the ball with a bat even while I swung it even as I saw it on the television.

When I was nine years old, my father sent me to West Delhi Cricket Academy. That is when he discovered something special in me, which Coach Rajkumar Sharma had discovered in him. So he made my life gradually as a professional cricket player. So I used to practice in the morning hours, later to school for the day hours, and cricketing matches with friends along the street. I was a pretty aggressive lad at that time; every other time, I was on the prowl to become way much better than myself.

Loss That Changed My Life

18 December, 2006. My father died of a stroke. I was 18. The world rested on my shoulders. He has been the support of my life. Everything was not alright, yet he stood beside me. Which means that tomorrow I will play for Delhi in a Ranji Trophy match. So, for it, I went out to bat with all this being the first and foremost fact-he wanted it from me and runs on that day are not only for the team but loads of my tributes to him.

Playing to Indian Team

Actually, 2008 was very good for me as I was also playing captain of Indian U-19 along with and being a part of that side which won the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup. So, in that year, I was part of that team which would play ODI matches by playing against Indian seniors as it used to play against Sri Lanka.

Road to Stardom

Everything in my life has seen a change since the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. And this is a dream, which was fulfilled at a nascent stage of cricketing career for me much to my joy and that of the heart of all cricket lovers.

It is because during the year 2012, I had scored a fantastic 183 with headlines against Pakistan at Asia Cup. Aggressive batting, consistency, and fitness brought me all over the limelight in every corner of the world. In the year 2014, I was promoted as the captain for test cricket, the captain for Indian cricket team and the ODI and T20I Cricket team during the year 2017.

Autobiography of Virat Kohli

Aggression, constructive batting, and leadership have helped in achieving the most incredible success for India in all formats. I never thought; this example I have to set whatever it isbe it a Test match or an ODI or T20.

Challenges and criticism

And success brings a horde of problems. Sometimes the runs were not coming, and rains of criticism were falling heavily. They started criticizing the captaincy, temperaments, and even the technique with which I was batting.

And I believed in working and self-confidence. Every time the family, colleagues, and fans kept motivating me amidst all those hard times.

Family Role

My wife is one very strong person. So, Anushka Sharma knows how tough the job is, so she keeps me level headed. I have a daughter named Vamika whom we brought in January 2021. Really, it has been transformative. It has taught me all about patience and unconditional love.

Records and Achievements

I have always given priority to the team achievement rather than my individual achievement as a cricketer. Series wins in Australia, England and South Africa brought maximum pleasure to me since it was a historic time for Indian cricket.

Out of Cricket

I engage myself in extra mural activities whereby I offer back to society through the Virat Kohli Foundation besides giving back to poor children as well as through sports cultures and business in the fitness enterprise, plus endorsement follows but cricket is my first love, passion, and goes way long in legacy and vision.

Well, sit back and think of the dreams that I have had come alive right in front of my eyes-from being a Delhi boy to being the most successful captain then cricketing legend that this world has ever seen-so at present. It genuinely has been one hell of an experience. The final motivation for me would be to just play for India all through and inspire many more youths to dream big and deliver much-required commitment.
